Set within the neoclassical context of Kolonaki, the renovation reimagines an existing apartment as a contemporary open-space residence, where Modern Luxury is defined through symmetry, material refinement, and spatial clarity. The design does not erase the past; instead, it reinterprets it, allowing classical proportions to coexist with contemporary precision.
The interior unfolds as a continuous sequence of spaces, organized along a clear axial logic. Living, dining, and private zones flow into one another without visual interruption, reinforcing a sense of openness and calm. Hidden doors and integrated wall systems dissolve functional boundaries, preserving the purity of the architectural envelope and allowing the space to read as a single, cohesive composition.
Marble viola becomes the project’s defining material gesture. Applied with precision rather than excess, it introduces contrast, weight, and tactility, grounding the neutral palette and elevating the atmosphere with a quiet sense of luxury. Its expressive veining is balanced by soft textures, warm wood tones, and upholstered volumes, creating a dialogue between solidity and comfort.
Light plays a fundamental role in shaping the interior experience. Filtered through sheer curtains and reflected across marble surfaces and soft fabrics, it enhances depth, highlights symmetry, and accentuates the interplay between old and new. Decorative ceiling elements and carefully selected lighting fixtures echo the neoclassical heritage, while their contemporary reinterpretation reinforces the project’s modern identity.
Rather than relying on ornament, luxury is articulated through proportion, alignment, and material intelligence. Every element is integrated, every transition intentional. The result is a serene urban dwelling that feels timeless yet contemporary, an architectural interior defined by balance, restraint, and spatial fluidity, in the heart of Athens.
