The 145sq.m. apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a 4-storey residential building in Neo Iraklio, built in 1986.
The objective of the renovation was to redesign the apartment in order to create new functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that would serve the needs of a young family.
At floor plan level, the interventions are focused on the kitchen and the master bedroom. The wish of the owners to extend their bedroom space by adding an office space and a walk-in closet led to the design of a wooden sliding partition that separates these spaces from the bedroom. The movable element ensures both communication and partial isolation of the spaces.
An element that stood out from the beginning was the wooden ceiling, which influenced the aesthetic choices of the design. The texture of wood, found on the ceiling, floor and furniture, is combined with white and soft grey shades, all together contributing to a modern living space with a minimalist aesthetic that generates a sense of calm.
