The apartment is located in an ancient historic building in the city of Catania, Sicily, located near the harbor. The renovation is developed between the third and fourth floors of the building.
The introduction of a new volume creates a new fluid spatiality that unifies the two levels; the corten iron volume contains two rooms used for services and the staircase along which there is a wall covered with historic salvaged tiles mixed with strips.
Going up the staircase you reach the living area of the apartment, where there is the terrace that frames the front of the harbor.
