In Apartment MA, every solution was designed to reflect the routine and preferences of the residents — a couple whose children no longer live with them but visit often.

The original layout was reorganized, removing one bedroom to make way for integrated, cozy, and functional spaces where the entire family and friends can gather.

The integration between the living room and kitchen enhances social interaction, with the island countertop acting as a connection point between the areas and as support for anyone keeping company while cooking. Natural materials and neutral colors reinforce a sense of warmth and practicality.

Additionally, the tall cabinetry extending into the service area brings a sense of spaciousness and provides generous storage. A slatted panel subtly separates the service area without blocking it entirely, preserving the openness of the smaller space.

The custom cabinetry was designed to optimize every inch. For example, the wine cabinet facing the living room also serves as a lit display case facing the island, and as a tall, narrow storage for brooms and mops on the kitchen side.

In the living room, a corner bench near the window was built to offer more seating space — including drawers for storage, a built-in planter, and a magazine holder next to the sofa. Behind the sofa, a custom buffet was created to serve as both a dish cabinet and sideboard for the dining table.

Few surface changes were made, making the most of what the builder had already provided, such as the kitchen and bathroom countertops. Only a few colorful finishes were added strategically to bring more personality to the project, along with the new island countertop.

In the master suite of Apartment MA, we created a slatted panel that discreetly integrates the TV with no visible wires, while also defining a previously non-existent closet space — adding both elegance and lightness to the room.
