The GRX ARQUITECTOS architecture studio is not only a reform project, it is a project for cultural and neighborhood use in a state of evolution in the center of Granada, where it is intended to generate an urban garden through collective practices. At the moment a workshop space has been installed in its pre-existing buildings based on the construction of minimum resources and maximum economy of means.
The result is a luminous space that reveals the historical layers of the building than explain the transition from the Islamic city of Albaicín to the nineteenth-century French expansion of the Gran Vía Street in Granada city. In this process the different lives of the construction are evident, from laundry to drying room, and later to the doorman's house. Only a minimal intervention of installations and paving makes it possible to adapt this historical setting to the new contemporary use of an architecture studio.
