AREA MERCI was created by transforming the old self-service bar at the Arezzo Business Center into a contemporary restaurant and lounge bar that’s open all day long.

The project completely reimagines the floor plan to move beyond the rigid layout of the 1990s and create a fluid, versatile space. Various seating areas—stools, benches, tables, and a more private section—flow seamlessly into one another, maintaining a constant dialogue with the building’s public function.

Lighting becomes a narrative element: more functional and diffused during the day, softer and more indirect in the evening, integrated into the recesses and vaults to transform the atmosphere without altering the architecture.

Arches and vaults define the perception of space, creating niches and guiding the eye toward the bar counter, the visual focal point of the venue.
