The purpose of this sculpture is to create an interactive point of interest across from Mall of America, right next to the Marriott TownePlace Suites.
The sculpture is an artistic interpretation of the City of Bloomington’s important role as an international travel destination. It represents the area’s wildlife, natural beauty, and diversity.
The sculpture is 6 ft. tall and 20 ft. long. It consists of two operational/movable halves. When open, the Art Gate provides the required 20-ft. wide access. The sculpture is made of fabricated/cast bronze and steel.
The proposed sculpture is quickly visible and “readable” any time of the day or night to people passing, whether by foot, bike, or car
