The dining floor of Asador Etxebarri, the grill restaurant of Bittor Arginzoniz in an 18th-century farmhouse at the foot of Mount Anboto, was painted black and showed every footstep.
We laid Dinesen Layers HeartOak over the existing parquet: 19 mm three-layer solid oak with a 6 mm wear layer, 300 mm wide planks, 2 to 4 m long, with the natural heartwood cracks stitched by hand with oak butterflies. 153 m² across the main room, the txoko, the office and the corridor, glued and screwed.
The finish is twofold, applied on site: Dinesen Natural Oil 2K for the oiled look, and three coats of Bona Traffic HD Raw for wear resistance. Today the dining room is cleaned with a robot vacuum and mopped following Dinesen's maintenance manual.
