AutoCamp, Yosemite, is a modern and stylish outdoor hotel experience that makes connecting with the great outdoors easy for everyone. The site, which includes five 280-square-foot ADA suites, fits right in within the “glamping” trend that has flipped traditional camping as we know it, on its head. Through offering this alternative method of sleeping outdoors, campers are able to both enjoy luxury accommodations as well as the natural beauty around them. In this way, visitors can escape the hustle and bustle of urban life without sacrificing modern comforts.
Although each suite is compact, clever spatial planning and minimalist design packs in both style and amenities equivalent to a 5-Star boutique hotel experience. Accommodating a luxury experience within a smaller square footage is a practice in strategic design and also proves that you don’t need a massive space to feel pampered. Inspired by mid-century modernity, the high-end design has a contemporary flair, featuring classic lines and materials including natural woods, metals, and marble for a touch of old-world luxe. The neutral color palette of black, white, grey, and varying shades of brown seamlessly connects the interior with the exterior.
Like any hotel experience, comfort is key, and M-Rad’s design delivers it in spades. Each of the suites is outfitted with air conditioning; a European bathroom with a modern shower; a queen size bed with a custom skylight overhead for stargazing at night; integrated speakers; Apple TV; and a full kitchen with a stove, sink, fridge, and microwave. The kitchen casework transitions into the living space and custom storage solutions which are integrated into the framework of the unit.
