The Bamboo Ridge House is a project exhibited at  "The Oriental Bamboo: Art of Living Exhibition on  Asian Bamboo". It is honoured to carry the opening  performance of the exhibition.

Spaces that we see in daily life are often fixed, but  they should not be necessarily like that. This work  aims to create a dynamic spatial form according  to forces. As a natural fibre material, bamboo,  distinguished from concrete, steel, and even wood,  has its unique flexibility. Tough bamboo pieces can  achieve different bending extents, reacting to different  forces, as if their lives last forever. The installation  adopts a simple form of the house section with the  two-slope roof as the prototype. Each section is made  of curved bamboo pieces that form supporting arches  and elastic rafters. The array of sections forms a  spatial sequence. The bamboo tubes are hung on the  roof, emphasising different heights in the space. The  visitor can slightly pull the bamboo tubes down and  feel the rhythms of the spatial installation.

Over time, the material's internal forces may change  gradually, and the installation may no longer remain  the perfect form as it is when the fabrication is just  finished. This work aims to show a process and an  experiment, exploring the inter-relationships among  force, material, space, and body based on time.
