What was the brief?
A cheap and cheerful refurbishment of an existing beauty salon. Playing on the theatre of a make-up artist this project uses a series of insertions and block colour for personality and identity.
What were the key challenges?
Budget constraints are always a consideration on any project but this particular one called to be clever creating maximum impact at minimal cost. Massing a muted pink hue throughout immerses the visitor and creates a united backdrop for smaller refined touch points within the space.
What materials did you choose and why?
A feminine pink blankets the salon, paired with a white cork look linoleum to bounce light and act as durable underlay for the day-to-day program of a salon. Tactile tiles and glazed linen curtains add a theatre and everyday opulence.
