The mixed residential complex “Les Lofts de Bettembourg” comprises 21 flats and 4 commercial units. The project occupies an exposed site on the Route de Peppange and facing the Bettembourg railway. The design approach responds to the fact that there is virtually no greenery in this location.
As urban development is in principle project based, we decided to create 20% of the green areas in and on the building. Each flat has planting containers on the main facade in front of the windows to green the facade.
On the garden side, certain areas are reserved for vegetation. The size of the
intervention is in keeping with the scale of the place, the volumes of the building are broken up by the jumps in level of the acroteria, the different heights of the floors, and by breaking up all the angles of the building by the gradations for which Dagli is known.
Special attention has been given to the vegetation of the facade and the planting on the projections and balconies, in order to establish a continuity and communication between the urban and building landscapes.
