The Birges Hotel in Hungary features SADEV glass balustrade solutions as part of its architectural design. To follow both the straight and curved lines of the building, nearly 1,000 linear metres of SADEV glass balustrade profiles were supplied for the project.
The project combines approximately 800 metres of straight profiles with 200 metres of custom-curved profiles, with radii down to 1.5 m.
An Architectural Project Combining Straight and Curved Lines
The exterior architecture of the Birges Hotel was designed by Rekontir Architects, while the interior architecture was entrusted to Vincze és László Építészeti és Művészeti.
One of the distinctive features of the project is the geometry of the building. The glass balustrades follow both long straight sections and curved areas.
This configuration required the use of both straight and curved glass balustrade profiles to follow the different architectural shapes of the project.
Nearly 1,000 Metres of SADEV Glass Balustrade Profiles
For the Birges Hotel glass balustrades, SADEV supplied its 7031 glass balustrade profile, combined with 8.8 laminated glass.
The project includes:
- approximately 800 m of straight profiles;
- approximately 200 m of curved profiles;
- two bending radii: 25 m and 1.5 m;
- installation by Bócsa Group.
200 Metres of Curved Profiles for Glass Balustrades
The curved sections are one of the main technical features of this project.
Approximately 200 metres of SADEV profiles were curved, with two different radii of 25 m and 1.5 m, to follow the geometry of the building.
The curved profiles make it possible to create curved glass balustrades while maintaining visual continuity with the straight sections of the project.
The SADEV 7031 Glass Balustrade Profile
The SADEV 7031 profile was selected for the Birges Hotel glass balustrades.
Combined with 8.8 laminated glass for this project, it was used for both the straight and curved sections of the building.
This project illustrates how SADEV glass balustrade profiles can be adapted to architectural designs featuring complex geometries and different bending radii.
SADEV Solutions for Custom Glass Balustrade Projects
With nearly 1 km of profiles, including 200 m of curved profiles, the Birges Hotel showcases SADEV’s ability to provide solutions adapted to the architectural requirements of a project.
