A three-generation family resides in a densely populated area of Quoc Oai, a historic district that has become part of the rapidly urbanizing landscape of Hanoi. The design team aimed to create a modern solution for this house, contrasting it with the surrounding neighborhood's traditional character.

Facing south, the front of the house is partially enclosed to maintain privacy while still offering stunning views. A large glass window allows an abundance of natural light to flood the interior, enhancing the spatial qualities of the home and framing the picturesque neighborhood. Internal curtains provide sun protection and ensure privacy without sacrificing the openness of the design. At the back, a north-facing garden offers shade and improves ventilation, while strategically placed windows on all four façades further enhance airflow throughout the house. The west-facing right-side façade features a polished concrete wall that shields the house from the sun’s heat, while carefully positioned windows preserve the views.

Inside, a zig-zag staircase with curved glass handrails complements the sweeping form of the skylight above and the arched door on the third floor. The skylight floods the space with natural light, creating an intriguing play of light and shadow that animates the interior. The ground floor is an open-plan space that combines the living room, dining area, and kitchen, offering great flexibility for the owners. This layout fosters social interaction, allowing the family to cook, entertain, and supervise children playing in the front garden. The living room opens up to a serene courtyard with a koi pond, framed by a large glass door that invites the surrounding landscape indoors.

The second floor is dedicated to the children's and parents' rooms, designed to encourage family interaction. The children's room is bright and cheerful, with a lively yellow and white color scheme. The third floor is reserved for the altar room and a guest room. Overall, the design creates a tranquil atmosphere through clean lines and modern forms. By blending contemporary architecture with the historical context, the team seeks to convey a message of progress toward the future while honoring the past.
