Botânico Building

The Botanical Building project stems from the challenge of accommodating a dense, multifunctional program on a 600 m² urban lot. The proposal seeks to organize the spaces, articulating functional complexity in an architecture that reflects the scale and context of the established neighborhood.

On the ground floor, the basement design organizes the promenades, gardens, and shops as a gradual transition zone between the building's public and private spaces.
Setbacks, passageways, and public rest areas activate the area, transforming the building into a meeting point and fostering interaction between residents and visitors.
The volume immediately above houses the parking lot, technical areas, common areas, and leisure areas.

The design strategy involves volumetric fragmentation, creating voids and subtle transitions between the different programs. Elements such as translucent planes, cobogós, and changes in materiality reinforce horizontality and spatial fluidity, promoting continuity in the user experience and avoiding the feeling of excessive occupation of the site.

The four upper floors house 20 housing units of approximately 70m² each.
On the facades, continuous openings, planters, and opaque enclosures promote
visual connections while preserving privacy, as well as natural lighting and ventilation,
ensuring environmental comfort and a sensitive dialogue with the city.
