Brise House, modern and contemporary, is a planned construction project in the city of Sete Lagoas (located in Minas Gerais, a state in Brazil). The owners, who did not want to be seen from the outside of the residence, demanded that, in addition to this feature, the depth of the land be well utilized in a way that would provide utility and make the most of the available area. The project's premise was therefore centered on meeting these requirements.
The main facades of the house are composed of a large slatted wooden box that is supported by metal beams and pillars. This substantial volume is attached to a secondary "box" made of concrete and glass frames. Gardens that are "semi-external" are incorporated between both boxes, aligning with the owners' desire for privacy and bringing nature "inside" the house. The gardens are visible from both the first and second floors and also serve as a thermal barrier to regulate the indoor spaces.
On the first floor, as you enter the entrance hall, you'll notice a water mirror below the staircase. This "blue blade" connects the main living room area to the pool area. A generous living room has been designed from which you can view the outdoor areas at the back and the front. The same floor includes a garage, kitchens, a dining room, a game room, a gym, suites, and a leisure area with a court, pool, and sauna. There is also space dedicated to vegetable gardens and the cultivation of herbs and food, allowing for the production of fresh items. On the second floor, there are four spacious suites, an intimate living area, a playroom, and a pantry area. The master suite features a large closet area, a bathroom, and a spacious terrace, from which you can see the outdoor leisure areas and gardens.
