BULL Butcher and Wine is a new meat restaurant in Zaporizhzhia city (Ukraine). Concept of the restaurant, starting from name and logo, together with the interior and furniture items have been realized by the Ukrainian design studio YUDIN Design. The owners of the studio, the twins Vladimir and Aleksandr Yudin, opened the studio ten years ago. Today they are among the best designers in Ukraine who are specialized in interiors and in the brand identification for hotels, bars and restaurants.
The bull, from which YUDIN Design studio gave the name to this meat restaurant, has tight associations with the bullfight. The typical color of this famous Spanish tradition is the red, like the cape of a bullfighter, meat and wine. Therefore, choosing the color of the restaurant logo, in which the chef knows the sense in the meat, the designers did not doubt: only red! It was supplemented by a coal-black, making the logo "grilled", and once again reminding that here the butchers know how to cook meat.
The idea of the bull in the logo of the steak restaurant has been realized by the designers Aleksandr and Vladimir Yudin twice: not only in the word itself, but also in the stylized letter U. The notches on the letter and the "horns" above it created a recognizable symbol - the bull's head. The symbol, concise and unambiguous, gives to understand apparently - here is the bull, that's the butcher. And the chef knows from which piece of meat the best steak will turn out, and he himself will choose the perfect wine for it.
Before, in this place there was a confectionery. Aleksandr and Vladimir Yudin, also called Brothers Yudin, used the previous planning decision, organizing as much space as possible. The costumer of BULL Butcher and Wine brand and interior is a famous restaurateur. He absolutely trusted the whole project in the hands of the Brothers, giving them to choose the name and to create an interesting concept of the establishment. The same restaurateur was a colleague of Vladimir and Aleksandr in the Ukrainian tv show Hell Kitchen, where he cared about the kitchen while Brothers Yudin about the brand, the interior and the serving elements. Behind the Tv show the «hell team» also collaborated many times and BULL Butcher and Wine is the last ready example of it.
In the issue of planning for the HoReCa places, YUDIN Design studio always care about two important moments: to create as much as possible seating places and to leave enough free space for the comfortable staff job. All must be made in ergonomic way. For this reason the designers organized in the restaurant interior a bar in an opened structure as a bar buffet. In addition, visitors feel like guests in a butcher's home.
The interior demonstrates the character of its owner. The feet of the furniture look like hooves. Lamps in one of the halls are hidden among the suspended leather collars, as we used to see on the bulls. In another hall you can find brass bells that also remind about cow. On the terrace with panoramic windows, where a lot of natural light gets, they are mounted in stylized bull horns made of metal rods. All this lighting and decoration were designed by Aleksandr and Vladimir Yudin. Some interesting facts concern bull collars hanging from the ceiling: more than 500 metal parts (buckles and carbines) and about 200 meters of leather belts were used for this decor!
Natural materials dominate the scene of this restaurant interior: metal, brick, concrete, grilled wood, glass and tiles - as in the meat workshop. In the interior there is also a lot of leather - the usual material for the butcher aprons. The leather coves also chairs, the hangings for bells and the holders for the wine bottles, located right in the hall on the wall. The collection of drinks is always some reason of proud for the meat restaurant BULL Butcher and Wine, and must be in sight. In one of the halls, a shelf with wine bottles adjoins a whole collection of meat cutters.
Despite the restraint of the interior, it is not cold. The nice leather on the seats is combined in this restaurant interior with the velour upholstery of armchairs and sofas. The soft orange and blue colors dilute the gray-brown tonality of the situation and facilitate it. The main lighting was supplemented with a dotted - on the tables stand candles. They add coziness and unobtrusively, reminding once again that the main dish here is cooked on fire. On the terrace, in the brightest room, the interior was diluted with indoor flowers, setting them on hanging shelves. The upper tier occupies a box with a lush plant while the lower one serves as a shelf on which there are olive oil, vinegar and other condiments. Everything at hand so that guests feel at home in this meat restaurant.
YUDIN Design studio created from this space all that they wanted from first. The work was going fast and with inspiration. Because the owners of the studio are experienced specialists they didn't meet any difficulties in the supervision stage. They are proud that this meat restaurant interior was realized only with Ukrainian designers, manufactures and factories. So, the chairs were chosen from the works of the famous product designer Pavel Vetrov, who few times received the Red Dot Award. It’s the first public interior that represented the collection ID chairs. All the other cabinet furniture was designed by the second studio of the Brothers, YUDIN Product, that is specialized in the design items. Lamps BELL, casted under brass, were projected by Aleksandr and Vladimir Yudin and created by Lviv masters called PikArt Group. The designers made all the rest on different manufactures, depending from the material of the item.
Steaks at BULL Butcher and Wine are served only from the Ukrainian beef. The wine collection includes the best samples of drinks from all over Ukraine. Besides wine and meat, which is predictable, also a beer can be served. The beer here is also of the highest class, Belgian and trustworthy Ukrainian craft. In the menu of this steak restaurant there are also oysters grown in Ukraine and a huge selection of cheeses from all regions of the country. The ham is not kept in the kitchen, but in sight view, right in the showcase, decorating one of the halls.
