Tied in a bundle transport , the plot is shaped by its immediate environment : the South beam SNCF (TGV and TER) , underground beam road to the east and north beam tram .
The plot here leans to any building to form an island thus resulting transport infrastructure .
The building had to assume that singular isolation in a specially complex urban context.
Hence the choice of a monolithic and kinematic writing .
A monolithic building and kinematic
Within the same volume , the building includes two programs that operate completely autonomously :
- In the East, an office building at R +3 , staff of the SNCF.
- In the West, a residential hotel to R 4 for the rolling agents SNCF TGV drivers . The latter program is treated as a hotel , both in rooms for public areas , with particular care on acoustics.
Both programs are based on a common base , the park , located at the bottom level of the boulevard and dressed vertical sluices aluminum . The Brick Street base of the Ark of Mallows dressed rubble of the same type as the bridge piers of Moutonnerie to ensure a continuity of materials along the rue de l' Arche de Mallows .
These two programs are joined by a skin even uniform , homogeneous . The exterior cladding consists of a monochrome tapes aluminum gray tones , shimmering and changing brightness . The horizontal layout plan is dynamic. His cinematic aspect captures moving.
Regulations template led us , especially on the rue de l' Arche de Mallows, shifting to higher levels within the plot. We played the shifts imposed by emphasizing the process of spills on roads. Playing the building appears as a series of horizontal lines that désaffleurent based on different levels.
This assembly , with its masses imbalance is strong symbolic element of the project. This game stacks and subtle shifts of different volumes, level by level, generates disorder in the visitor : it's a fine affect the basic laws of gravity.
Urban windows
Punctuation scales important here qualified urban windows accompany this drawing facade and brand building scale .
They take place in urban strategic positions. If the angle of the boulevard and the street 's Ark Purple marks the entrance to the city for cars and trams , two urban windows also accompany the view from the rail lines arriving from Paris and Le Mans. Similarly , the view from the station , including the staff of the station that goes to the residence , brings up an urban window positioned on the 1st floor of the west facade, which houses the billiards room.
The uniqueness of these boxes is reinforced by an offset relative to the bare facade geometry.
