This detached house in Rocafort is located on a large plot of land, equivalent to two plots, allowing residents to enjoy a sizeable garden and a swimming pool separated from the building.

The house was designed as a composition of clearly defined volumes, with non-walkable flat roofs and extensive glazed areas. The indoor spaces are set around a central courtyard, designed as a transparent box which allows natural light and ventilation to reach all rooms. The courtyard plays a key role in the concept for the house. Located opposite the main entrance, it offers a pleasant sense of continuity with the outdoor garden. The courtyard serves to separate the kitchen and living room, providing a visual connection between all rooms on the ground floor and enhancing the feeling of spaciousness.

The house’s various porches and the planters on the first-floor façade link the interior of the house with the natural space of the garden outdoors, enveloping the building in a juxtaposition of light and greenery.

The exterior windows are fitted with sliding shutters made from prefabricated synthetic fibre panels. This lightweight system lends dynamism to the building, subtly disrupting the solidity of the structure and giving a touch of warmth to the natural stone cladding.

The interior of the house was designed in such a way as to make sure every last detail is perfect. Examples include the staircase, an exclusive design by architect Juan Pablo Mas, which comprises a steel structure with wooden steps without risers, and the insertion of metal profiles at various points to replace the concrete, with the aim of achieving a lighter, more elegant aesthetic.
