A Place to Learn, Play, and Connect Close to the center of Enter, on the former football fields of Enter Vooruit, a new Child Center is taking shape, bringing together two primary schools, childcare facilities, and a library. The design consists of three building volumes surrounding an open, light-filled heart: “De Middenstip”. This central space forms the beating heart of the building and accommodates encounters, a coffee corner, performances, and the library. The composition is small-scale, playful, and warm through the use of wood, matching both the scale and character of the village of Enter. Natural Comfort and Biobased Construction The building is designed according to the principles of passive and biobased construction. The wooden façades are vapor-permeable and insulated with biobased materials, ensuring a healthy indoor climate and a low environmental impact. Large overhangs reduce solar heat gain, while summer night ventilation through the façade provides natural cooling. Thanks to these smart solutions, there is hardly any need for technical installations, and energy consumption remains minimal while comfort is maintained throughout all seasons. The result is a sustainable, future-oriented building that is closely connected to its surroundings.
