Collins Quarter is the redevelopment of a site located behind an original Victorian, three storey terrace fronting Collins Street. Our brief was to consider the idea of a new bar fronting Pink Alley to the rear of the site that would define a new edge to the existing courtyard. We saw the project as an opportunity, at the first floor level, to create a space that engaged with the city as a night time experience, where the surrounding cityscape became the bar’s decoration.
