Located in an unconsolidated urbanized area, this project was developed in harmony with the geographical conditions of its implementation. It didn't link to any pre-existing volume set and started a new dialog: a dialog of its own. This approach comes from the fact that there is little information regarding the organization of the intervention space. This way, the design detached itself from the urban form and was governed by principles intrinsic to itself.

In terms of space organization, the project is defined by its forms according to the ideal solar orientation. The filtering of the southern light, whose intensity is so strong in Mediterranean countries, is achieved through fenestration of smaller measures in relation to the large spans facing northwest. Consequently, the house has a temperate climate in all its divisions. Furthermore, the architecture was not oblivious to the fact that the level of implantation allows a wide view over an urbanized valley, a kind of panoptic in relation to the house’s web and the landscape. Therefore, we offer the interior space a very strong relationship with the exterior through the glazing oriented towards the urbanized mantle that develops at lower levels.

The built mass is composed of two bodies connected by a circulation volume. The one closest to the street, oriented east-west, is intended for the rooms, with openings oriented to northwest and west. This volume consists of a suite, with sanitary installation and closet, both with entrance of light and natural ventilation; two bedrooms with openings facing northwest and a complete sanitary installation, that also has natural light and ventilation. Access to these divisions is managed via a circulation corridor that connects the entrance area and the second built body, where the living room and kitchen are located, which extends to the dining room.

The articulation is clarified by the entrance hall. The second body elongates in a northeast-southwest direction. The living room is closer to the entrance area and the openings face west-southwest. The kitchen and dining area have the same orientation but in the kitchen there is a fenestration facing south, towards the back of the lot. In this volume there is also a service bathroom and storage, both with natural light and ventilation.

Natural ventilation in all compartments with longer stays makes this house a healthy space, allowing aeration and cross ventilation of the compartments. On the lower level, with the same projection as the first built body, is the space for the covered parking. Access to this floor is via a ramp from the street and was designed to allow access by car. We remind you of the importance of this compartment in an area with few access to public transport. Finally, the pedestrian access from the street is made in a ramp characterized by the design of pavement in granite slabs.
