The refurbishment of Delfín I was conceived as an opportunity to reimagine a way of traveling through the Peruvian Amazon: immersive, respectful, and deeply connected to the land. More than a purely functional redesign, the project proposes a sensory experience in which architecture moves with the landscape and reveals its essence.
The intervention included a full transformation of cabins and common areas, the upgrading of technical systems, and a structural extension of the hull. Every design decision follows a single principle: to inhabit the jungle without disrupting it—to contemplate it from a place of intimacy. Materials were chosen for their warmth, provenance, and longevity, in harmony with the surrounding environment.
Inspired by organic patterns—such as the scales of native reptiles—the new architectural language bridges tradition and contemporaneity, creating spaces that feel grounded and rooted. The suites, with private terraces and panoramic views, extend the traveler’s experience into the vastness of the landscape, merging indoors and outdoors in a single gesture of contemplation.
Delfín I is a moving platform for contemplation. Each space invites stillness and wonder, embracing a slower rhythm that lets you hear what the river and the rainforest have to say. An experience that embodies the values of Delfín Amazon Cruises: connection, respect, and a profound sense of place.
