Combining art and landscape architecture, this decorative glass project at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona utilizes small kiln-fired glass panels (manufactured by Meltdown Glass Art & Design, LLC) that have durable cold-applied paints, custom etched names, and custom spherical shape cuts placed into a large metal frame. This project is very unique based off of the amount of detail that was put into each piece of glass. Every piece was precisely cut to size by waterjet to fit snugly into the framing. The paint colors had to be laid out in an intricate manner to maintain balance throughout the design. Overall, the project proves that collaboration and creativity can bring decorative glass to the next level in design, specifically in landscapes. This project was locally designed and manufactured in the state of Arizona.
