Dog Cove House is a new residence located in Port Rexton, Newfoundland and Labrador, perched in the hills overlooking Trinity Bay with expansive views toward the Town of Trinity. The home is designed to respond closely to its sloping landscape, carefully mapping circulation through the interior and out to the surrounding site to create a distinct experience at every turn.
The residence includes the primary home together with an additional guest suite, providing flexible accommodation for visiting family and friends while maintaining separation and privacy. The design takes advantage of the site's dramatic topography, with a bedroom cantilevering out over the landscape to strengthen the connection between the interior spaces, surrounding terrain, and distant views.
Dog Cove House was a highly collaborative, team-driven project, bringing together local and specialized expertise throughout the design and construction process. Woodford Architecture worked closely with the general contractor, engineers, fabricators, suppliers, and trades to coordinate the architecture, interiors, structure, millwork, finishes, fixtures, and custom elements of the home. This collaborative approach allowed the knowledge and expertise of the full project team to contribute directly to the development and execution of the design.
