The clients wanted a family sized ‘statement’ home with a main focus on natural light and garden areas within the home. Importance of natural light to flood into the centre of the home on both ground floor and first floor levels.Strong emphasis on connecting the main living area to the private open space on the same level for children to play.Transparency through the entire ground floor level through the use of glazing. The high level of presence the dwelling brings to the elevated site contributes to the home’s success. The simple use of only two contrasting materials of white acrylic render and black express panel metal cladding provides a minimalist and timeless façade. The internal connection between living spaces is seamless yet provides an appropriate level of privacy. The views achieved internally from all living spaces to the central courtyard are remarkable and the placing of windows perfectly frame these important vantage points.
