This is a multi-brand shop selling shoes, fashion accessories and clothing. The client's priority was to store more than 500 shoe boxes within a space. The shop was very small having only 15-tsubo (about 49.5m2), so I utilised shoe boxes as part of interior design. In addition to lining up shoe boxes on the shelves, I placed two stairs in sales space that enable to store more boxes underneath. Space in and on the compartment can also be used as storage. The design is complete when all shoe boxes are stored in place.

The two stairs can also be used as stools where customers can sit on and try shoes on. For the shop window, I made a tree-like object using vintage wood, where clothes and shoes can be displayed effectively. I also put emphasis on the cashier space with a colour to separate from the sales area. By using blue for the cashier compartment, it can easily be recognised as a different zone. Although the shop is small, I showed the role of each area through the use of colour & space and created sense of unity in design.
