The design of wedding accessories store Dreamweavers is like the perfect wedding – an event which requires both the precision of a military parade, as well as the froth and bubbles of a glass of celebratory champagne. Spacedge Designs tailored a dreamy confection in white for this store which supplied themed wedding items. Evoking the dreaminess and grandeur of the big occasion is a pared down version of a church arch, underneath which newlyweds traditionally pass.

The theatricality of the occasion is underscored by a layer of heavy white drapes behind the arch, which cleverly conceals a storeroom in its compact 600 sq ft footprint. However, the interiors never fall into fussy feminine aesthetics, thanks to its clean symmetry and purity of forms. Following the gentle curve of the arch are round 6mm-thick epoxy-clad steel plates suspended in mid-air to display the shop’s wares. Held in place by fine steel tension cables, the height adjustable surfaces, although robust, are a fitting allusion to the shop’s light and delicate offerings.
