In Kestenholz, a single-family home dating from 1964 was comprehensively renovated and adapted to meet today’s living requirements. With its distinctive roof shape and balanced proportions, the building continues to define the character of the neighbourhood. As part of the renovation, the existing structure was carefully developed while preserving its original character.

A New Layout for Contemporary Living

Atelier Kipfer was responsible for the planning and implementation of the project, from the initial concept through to completion. Inside, the existing layout was reorganised and opened up. This created a spacious living area on the ground floor with an open-plan kitchen, clearly defined zones and a noticeably enhanced sense of space.

The entrance area was also redesigned. A semi-open room divider, a generous cloakroom and the purposeful use of natural daylight create a welcoming introduction to the home. An extra-high fixed glazing element in the stairwell brings additional light into both floors.

Bathroom Design with Clarity and Comfort

The bathrooms were completely redesigned. On the ground floor, the bathroom remained in its original position but was given a new design and contemporary fittings. On the upper floor, the bathroom and adjoining room were combined to create a spacious bathroom landscape. A new dormer extends the space and provides natural light.

The KWC BEVO E in brushed steel was selected for the bathrooms. With its clear design language, premium stainless-steel appearance and reliable functionality, it blends harmoniously into the renewed bathroom concept. It reflects the guiding principle of the renovation: durable materials, precise workmanship and a design made to stand the test of everyday use.

Carefully Renovated Down to the Last Detail

The project demonstrates how an existing residential building can be transformed with respect and sensitivity. KWC supports this approach with a tap solution that consistently combines aesthetics, functionality and quality.
