Elo House begins with a simple strategy of straight lines, but not rigid ones: lines threaded through trees, lines that define the roof and the spaces, lines that project into generous cantilevers to “see the infinite above the treetops.” The house is conceived as an extension of the site, at times an extension of the forest, at times an extension of the lake, creating an architecture that does not frame the landscape, but moves through it with filters of light, warmth, and shade.
