In a collaborative effort with the Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory Brain Health Center, NELSON designed a space with key stakeholders that created a new, one-of-a-kind health program. The Cognitive Empowerment Program is designed to create a holistic approach to empowering individuals diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment. The flexible, technology-infused space allows members to participate in activities to restore the aging process and promote cognitive function while providing caregivers strategies to better support independent living. Using evidence-based design, involving all stakeholders of the high engagement community, the team provided an optimal solution for the built environment.
