The new offices of EOLIAN emerge as a futuristic white bubble, evoking a sense of purity that reflects the company’s focus on clean, renewable energy. EOLIAN integrates technology and nature; harnessing natural resources—primarily wind—to generate electricity. The office design embodies this vision, creating a space that is both conceptually and aesthetically aligned with the company's commitment to sustainability.
Located in a newly built sustainable structure, the offices span 1,500 square meters across a floor and a half. The design is minimalist yet rich in meaning, blending infrastructure, structural elements, materials, and lighting into a cohesive whole. White tones, transparency, and textures reinforce the company’s vision, subtly incorporated throughout the space.
A key design element is the integration of the building’s structural steel columns into a graphic grid system that echoes the geographic distribution of EOLIAN’s wind farms. These freestanding columns are visually connected by a grid applied in color on the polished concrete floor, forming an interplay of "grid upon grid"—the structural framework and the graphic pattern that flows between them. Above, the ceiling features thin metal louvers that conceal exposed infrastructure, complemented by a linear lighting system that mirrors the floor grid.
The office layout is fluid, incorporating enclosed offices, shared workstations, intimate seating areas, a children's play zone, and a dining space. Transparent partitions define these areas while maintaining openness and allowing natural light to flow throughout. Enclosed offices feature custom-designed decals on glass partitions, depicting the layouts of EOLIAN’s wind farms, while the structural steel columns are marked with geographic coordinates of the company’s sites.
Beyond functional zoning, the walls serve as interactive and thematic elements. Some are clad in textured acoustic panels that resemble topographic landscapes, while others are finished with projection-friendly paint, transforming them into dynamic display surfaces for real-time operational data. Additionally, writable acrylic panels allow for brainstorming and collaborative communication.
Art is seamlessly integrated into the space, reinforcing the company’s narrative. Notably, American artist Wayne Shaffer created a 3D wall installation based on AutoCAD drawings, offering an artistic interpretation of turbine blade schematics. Another of his works features miniature turbine blades cast in bronze. At the entrance, a monochrome photo collage of EOLIAN’s sites greets visitors, while in the communal area, a curated display of antique maps enhances the space. A separate wall incorporates horizontal rows of air plants, introducing a refreshing natural element that enhances the overall atmosphere.
The result is an office environment that is both highly functional and deeply connected to the company’s identity. Through meticulous design choices—structural elements, materials, graphics, and textures—the space embodies the synergy between technology and nature, wind and energy, innovation and sustainability.
