Dr. Muriel Petioni Plaza, an 8-story, 65-unit senior housing building located in Harlem and known to the local community as Erbograph Apartments, is the first senior housing development in Harlem designed to achieve LEED® Silver certification.
Designated a brownfield site and requiring special studies and remediation, the city-owned property was formerly occupied by a film storage warehouse known as the Erbograph building. The design incorporates sustainable building elements such a planted green roof, rainwater harvesting, solar shades and exceeds the NYSERDA Green Affordable Housing Program and Enterprise Green Communities guidelines for environmental responsibility.
In partnership with Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement (HCCI) and the Jonathan Rose Companies, Erbograph Apartments provides much needed affordable senior housing for the neighborhood.
