The client entrusted us with the restyling of a part of the facility. We had to come to terms with the pre-existence and the strategy of the work to be done in the future. Therefore, the choices made took into account the materials already present, colors, atmospheres and strengths to be emphasized but also weaknesses to be overcome.
One of the clients' requests was the desire to maintain an extreme sincerity of materials.

This results in atmospheres that are elegant but at the same time "flavorful," true. The experience becomes accommodating and every element contributes to maintaining in the user the feeling of being at ease, of feeling at home.
Upon entering, one is greeted by the reception-case made of wood and (real) corten. To the right is the pizzeria and to the left is the reception room with a relaxation corner, concealed by a partition that is also a rusty welded mesh bottle rack.
In the pizzeria, a clean, essential environment dominated by the pizza counter made entirely of white Carrara marble that "protects" the wood-burning oven behind it. Lots of strictly custom-made wood, chestnut-stained oak, to define the entire surfaces and make the most of the space, full-height furniture and walls that hide the technical parts.

The reception area maintains only one table, round, different from all the others. A note of character that also serves to make the element maintain a hierarchical importance that can also be used for a meeting or interview. The relaxation area is distinguished by the presence of two beautiful leather armchairs and a forest green velvet sofa, accompanied by gorgeous and valuable antiques.

A common thread but also an element of great variety in the intervention is the porcelain stoneware flooring with a breccia effect that presents a central decorated carpet made of 20×20 decorated tiles for each room. Very colorful, the flooring generates interesting contrasts with the masonry and wall parts that present a very neutral palette made of rough white walls, oak wood, corten and white marble.
However, the restyling will not stop with this intervention, so "stay tuned for more" and in the meantime: Enjoy your meal!

Skilful use of materials and authentic moods. At Esperia Osteria Flegrea, the floor becomes the key feature thanks to the Contrasti collection.

There is a mood of authenticity and elegance inside Esperia, a refined “osteria” on the island of Procida with a splendid view of Lake Miseno and the Gulf of Pozzuoli.

Manuarino, the architects who created the project, based the entire restyling on the use of authentic materials and the highlighting of existing features to bring out the location’s strong points.

Various forms of architectural sleight-of-hand were used to distinguish the different areas without shutting them off and while maintaining the white walls: the most eye-catching is definitely the choice of flooring.

Existing grey porcelain stoneware slabs are interrupted by inserts of 20×20 tiles from the Contrasti collection, in different patterns and colors to define the various areas.

The entrance zone is finished with Contrasti Tappeto 9 in Celadon color, which leads guests to the reception/cash desk area with a wood and Corten steel counter standing on another, different floor covering in a geometrical pattern in shades of beige: Tappeto 4, also from the Contrasti collection.

On the right of the entrance is the pizzeria area, a simple, uncluttered interior dominated by the pizza counter, entirely covered with white Carrara marble, which protects the oven. The floor covering chosen here is Tappeto 10 in a neutral color to give the interior unity and elegance.

To the left of the entrance, the locale expands into the hospitality zone, also designed to accommodate meetings and interviews: it is therefore furnished with a round table and a partition consisting of an industrial-style bottle rack to screen it from the entrance. The floor in this area is in Contrasti Tappeto 8, with a very contemporary look thanks to its pattern of small black and white triangles.

The Esperia also includes a lounge area for after-dinner relaxation, furnished in refined, eclectic taste: a forest green velvet sofa, two leather armchairs and a few good antiques. Its color is underlined by the floor tiles selected, Tappeto 5 and 11.

It is fascinating to see how every area has been given a different character simply by varying the floor covering, with all tiles chosen from the Contrasti porcelain stoneware collection, creating an interior that is unified and attractive throughout.
