FADE OUT, ACCORDING TO THE ARTIST
To me, a wine cellar is a kind of grid — a repetitive and utilitarian structure. From a geometric pattern that I designed and imagined in volume, I intervened in a simple way on the cellar’s structure, subtracting elements from its composition. The sequencing principle is thus disrupted by a deconstruction leading to the complete degradation of the pattern, which is that of the cellar itself. From these full and empty spaces emerges a binary frame — both complex and light — in which the bottles are displayed in a gradually diminishing rhythm.
SPECIFICATIONS
Stretching 7.01 meters wide and 3.65 meters high, this unique piece combines elegance with functionality. It discreetly holds an impressive capacity of 700 bottles, carefully arranged. The finishes balance the sobriety of matte black with the brilliance of white lacquered panels, creating a subtle and sophisticated contrast. Also available in silver maple, this work adapts to different aesthetic universes. Through meticulous craftsmanship, each small rod is carefully inserted into a white acrylic panel and secured at the back, forming an invisible and refined structure.
The cooling system, fully concealed within the ceiling, delivers a tempered and controlled airflow that gently descends over the bottles, ensuring optimal preservation without compromising the overall aesthetic.

FRÉDÉRIC CORDIER
Frédéric Cordier is a Swiss-Canadian artist born in Montreal in 1985. His work revolves around the notion of systems, to which he associates the idea of dysfunctionality. His formal concerns explore the basic elements of a specific vocabulary, aiming for maximum visual efficiency through simple interventions that play with rhythm and pattern, fullness and emptiness, black and white. Through sculpture, architectural installation, and drawing, Frédéric Cordier explores a visual language grounded in rhythm and repetition.
