It was one of those noisy days when, with a cup of coffee and in a friendly company, an understanding of complete comfort for the realization of the ideas comes. We talked with our client in his studio about the future, about new trends, about how to create high-quality products, about what attention to detail is. We discussed his new acquisition, a two-story apartment 10 minutes from the center of Kyiv and what he wants to see it.
Our client is a married couple with 4 children, active young people with various hobbies, paying attention to details, fond of travel and books. And our customers wanted to create their own place, their home. A few days later we went to see the apartment. It was a new development, the apartment was located on the 19th and 18th floors with a large terrace and excellent views of the city. The number of extra walls left no other choice than redevelopment, which allowed us in the future to create a cozy common space for meetings of the whole family and friends.
The total area of the apartment is 290 square meters. The apartment is functionally divided into 2 main zones: an entrance hall, a common living room area, a kitchen and a guest bathroom are located on the upper level, a master bedroom, 4 children's bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms occupy the entire lower level. We are often asked about the style in the design in which we work. The Feeling the Oat project is a tribute to the modern interior, but with lots of the nostalgic elements for the client.
To implement the project, we chose calm gray tones in combination with shades of natural wood, at the first level we used glass partitions in order to create additional zoning and the effect of a visual increase of space. The kitchen area is combined with the dining room and includes a multifunctional kitchen and an island more than 4 meters long. Above the dining table is a custom-designed chandelier made from the hereditary family glasses of the owner. In the evening, the chandelier creates a magical setting: rays of different colors arrange a real dance on the ceiling, refracting and creating a fabulous setting for children and at the same time romantic for the owners of the house.
The living area is central common space of the first level. Calm gray and beige tones create a slightly relaxed atmosphere, calling for relaxation and leisurely pastime. We added some bright elements to the interior of the living room, but still the most important goal for us in working on this project was to create family comfort. Most of the interior is made up of objects of art, works by Nazar Bilyk and Maria Priymachenko, as well as ceramics and books brought from travels. Our customers are creating a real library.
These are books from different parts of the world, professional and fiction, about business, art, wine, relationships and just a good classic. We wanted to find a special place for this collection, which allows them to enjoy the view from the apartment, so we decided to place an office and library area in front of the terrace. The cabinet is fully implemented in wood and in combination with light shades in the interior creates a special male accent in the entire apartment.
A couple of months after the completion of the project, we stood with the owner of the house on the same terrace, discussed new ideas, the future and the result of our work and there was a complete feeling that we were able to feel, find and realize exactly the mood and space in which our customers feel yourself at home.
