Hoearquitetura (Brazil) finds the solution for the 100 m² apartment in restorations and punctual modernizations, with interior design and work carried out in 105 days
An old apartment in São Paulo (Brazil) gained a cozy home air for a young executive residence who was looking for a refuge to the long periods she stays at work. The project is signed by the brazilian office Hoearquitetura, which is headed by the architect Cecilia Hoe. The priority of the project was to allow the resident to move into the apartment in a short period of time. Thus, the process was divided into two phases: bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms were prioritized, leaving the kitchen and service area for a second stage.
A crucial point to atend the deadline was modernize the apartment through practical solutions with a shorter execution period, such as the restoration of the Travertine marble floors in the social area, the laminate wooden floor for the intimate area, renovation of the lighting crown molding and replacement of marble countertops with Ultra Premium MDF countertops in bathrooms.
The color palette for the Living and Dining Room was blue and pink over neutral tones, such as light gray and off-white. The wall that integrates the living and dining room received the color “Mar Calmo”, by Suvinil.
In the Dining Room, the architect opted for keeping the beveled mirrors that cover one of the walls. To compose with the retro air of the mirrors, pieces of furniture that refer to the 1950s and 60s were chosen, such as the round Saarinen tulip table with a black foot and Pau Ferro top, the Serafina chairs by FJ Pronto Pra Levar and a "Sputnik" lamp.
In the intimate area, the master suite received a headboard in beaded white MDF and the green tone “Folha de Louro” by Suvinil. Completing the composition are copper-tone sconces, mustard-toned upholstery items and wall art by Urban Arts. The earthy tones and the simplicity of the set convey the desired feeling of coziness and relaxation.
The second bedroom was transformed into a guest suite with the repositioning of the guest bathroom door and the third bedroom became the office. In the Lavabo, the wall covered with floral wallpaper creates a background for the mirror with organic lines, giving the space personality. The Ultra Premium wood MDF countertop, suitable for wet areas, harmonizes with the water green glass gum floor existing in the environment.
For the renovation of the bathrooms, Roca's Olaria ceramic was chosen, in a half-wall composition in green and coral tones combined with off-white. The measure of the pieces of 15 x 15 cm fits the compact size of the bathrooms and its irregular surface.
