The house is located on the outskirts of the Austrian capital, Vienna (Wien-Umgebung) with the freedom of seeking vistas but also the opportunity to play with the volumetry and exploit the site itself being situated within a heavily wooden area. The main idea was to organize the program around a courtyard so all spaces have views towards the internal patio (connected physically and virtually) but also towards the woodland. The ground floor is used as an element to bridge the 3m slope of the terrain containing the carport for 6 vehicles and the main access to the house with a wine cellar, spa- fitness and lounge which connects to the main staircase opened towards the patio.

The 1st floor is part social (living-dining zone) opened to the outdoor pool and terraces whereas the private (bedrooms) area enjoys a calmer position looking towards the dense tree barrier. The upper level is a large cantilever with the master bedroom, office and additional wellness area. The composition is quite simple; the ground floor is a concrete “semi buried” structure that houses services and wine cellar, on the other hand, the 1st floor is treated as a wooden body that fully opens towards the outdoor leisure spaces and closes itself on the private zone; lastly, the upper volume is a closed cantilevered slab that opens also towards the outdoor areas and its façade is a contrast with the rest of the house using frosted reflective panels that alleviate the “heaviness” of the volume, rendering it almost “weightless”.
