Yellow Cloud Studio as Architects

Galatea, a custom software developer for the financial sector, needed new office spaces for their fast growing development team in London.

With highly demanding problem-solving tasks under tight deadlines, it was vital to create a relaxed work atmosphere, while providing ample and inviting spaces lending themselves for group activities which help enhance a very strong community spirit among the team.

Our aim was to create a paired back albeit eclectic design, which would have a strong identity, sleek and representative feel, while retaining the friendly and laid-back aspect of the company.

Special attention was given to the communal areas, giving them a cool but informal character and which include a large tea-point/bar, meeting and dining tables, recreational area with dart board, mini foosball and sofa area complete with a projector for post-work movie nights.

Two yellow arches, separated by a green area, become the focal point of the communal space, forming cosy meeting and dining booths with built-in sofas, perfect for hanging out.

They are complemented by the eclectic tea-point which doubles up as a chic in-house bar, another vital location, ideal for socialising.

All office spaces are separated with privacy-guaranteeing translucent glazing in characteristic rounded framing.
