The requirement: Design a living area, kitchen, wood-burning stove, bathroom, bedroom, patio, log storage and outdoor shower. The restriction: Building a space with no more than a one hundred square foot foundation and not taller than sixteen feet.
The property faces northeast, providing an incredible view where you can see as far as Downtown Vancouver and the North Shore mountains.By stretching the walls and roofline to gain interior space while respecting the given restrictions, we were able to remain cost-effective. We focused on not changing the landscape or natural slope of the terrain, to take advantage of the property orientation and incredible views.
The result was a modern cabin with elegant lines that has beautiful natural lighting and efficient use of interior space.
