Gam Public Neighborhood Park

Bitar Consultants as Architects

This park is located in a low-income neighborhood in east of Amman. It used to be a dumping area and contained large district sewage collection pits. The site was cleaned and the pits were filled. The park contains a cultural center for kids, a football field, jogging pathways, public services and landscape planted areas.

It provided the children of the low-income an access to play and spend nice time within a clean, safe and beautiful facility. The design provided a multiplicity of space that can be used flexibly for various activities. The color scheme of the park was derived from "lego" color, which are convenient for children. Curved lines were used frequently in the design in contrast to the all straight line structures surrounding the park.
