A couple looking to settle down with their family of three young boys after a busy east coast lifestyle found the last available lot in the Goldbranch neighborhood in Niwot, Colorado and decided it was just the right place for them - privacy, views, lots of space for the kids and pets to roam and play, yet still a few minutes from schools, restaurants, and shops. They selected Slope Architecture to help them design their dream home for the property, and Cook Design house to collaborate on interior finishes and furnishings.
The home reflects their east coast heritage while merging with the Colorado lifestyle. The main level consists of open flexible living spaces that merge seamlessly with the outdoors, with additional more enclosed, private spaces like a formal dining room and an office that allows for quiet workspace or intimate gatherings of small groups for conversation. Huge windows and doors in every space invite in the sunshine and views. Outdoor living spaces include a cozy seating area shaded by a trellis and overlooking the play areas in the yard, a large dining space adjacent to the outdoor kitchen complete with a BBQ and Big Green Egg, and a fully-covered seating area with TV, outdoor heaters, and a fireplace for cozy gatherings in the swing seasons. A large mud room connects the garage, kitchen, front yard, and rear yard, providing ample storage spaces for coats, shoes, and sports gear, as well as a private powder room with shower for a quick cleanup after outdoor activities.
