This apartment is in Beaumonde which is one of first few completed hi end luxury premises in South Mumbai. Considering that it is located at 31st floor, which is the highest floor, this home has a 360 degree view to Mumbai from the living room deck. All of the main living spaces and master bedrooms have unobstructed view of the Bandra Worli Sea Link. ART AND INTERIOR SPACES : It was an exhilarating process as every aspect was in our imagination and had to be finally put together on arrival like pieces in a jigsaw. The timeline was very critical as the client is a well known corporate leader and wanted to see the home finished soon. The first thing was to get an overall scheme defined keeping the stringent timeline and our meticulous outlook towards quality, fit and finish in consideration. The living and entertaining zone acts as an interactive space with idea based art and furniture that has been selected. The sculpture by Velay Shende was a unique reference to our client’s outlook towards his work and commitment. The ‘Indian Dabbawalas (Tiffin boys)’ are a part of world history for their organization skills and are always on time. The same is represented by the presence of almost a 100 working watches on this golden sculpture with stomachs of gold hanging instead of the tiffins on their cycle. This is an urban context aims at our clients professional outlook. The last supper artwork on canvas is a limited addition print photographed by artist Vivek Vilasini with ‘South Indian Kathakali Performers’. This is a lovely stroke of color along the back wall overlooking the entire space. The selection of all the furniture was made in a single trip to Europe. The sofas are from various brands like Poltrona Frau, Versache and the centre ottoman is a vivid contrast of a fluid furniture piece by Sawaya and Moroni. The space was all set up after having a combined visit to various stores in Milan.
