Background

The 4* Headland Hotel is situated in a truly stunning location, surrounded on three sides by the raw beauty of the North Cornish coast. Offering a new level of luxury to its guests, with the launch of their new Spa, the HOTEL has been working on a project to improve the exterior aesthetic and create a seamless, modern finish.

With THE HOTEL standing directly on the headland, with the Atlantic sea just below, any exterior improvements had to be able to withstand the summer heat as well as the constant pounding of waves and salty sea spray. This required a product that was not only visually stunning, but also extremely hardwearing, fully permeable, weather resistant and UV stable.

Solution Our work here began in 2012, when SureSet’s Installation Team hand trowelled 6mm Barley Beach resin bound permeable paving onto a raised patio area (to the left), expertly incorporating the newly installed skylights overlooking the indoor pool of the Spa.

In Spring 2014, our Installation Team returned to lay more Barley Beach resin bound permeable paving to the HOTEL’s front patio. We also manufactured and supplied permeable resin bound PermaSlabs™ in Barley Beach which were installed, by the Hotel’s building contractor JE Stacy & Co, to the area outside the restaurant (to the right).

Result The HOTEL now has a seamless look to all three sides of the Hotel. The raised patio installed in 2012, is now filled with luxurious seating and used by guests, to eat and drink alfresco, or just sit and admire the breath-taking views overlooking the famous Fistral Bay. The Headland Hotel were thoroughly impressed with the finish.
