The new headquarters of Hilti Austria was constructed at its existing site in Vienna’s 23rd district within a period of just 17 months. The three-storey building comprises the administrative headquarters, providing 120 workstations, meeting rooms, and a training centre, as well as the Hilti Center, which, with a sales area of 350 m², is the largest and highest-revenue Hilti Center in Europe.
The uppermost office floor cantilevers significantly beyond the entrance area, creating a generous, weather-protected outdoor space. Access to the building is provided through a three-storey, light-filled atrium that forms the central arrival area.
The interior colour concept is based on the contrast between bright office spaces and the darker tones of circulation areas and social spaces. Strong visual connections to the exterior are established through expansive glazed façades and a series of courtyards that serve as extended break-out areas.
The east and west façades were designed as double-skin climate façades, contributing to the building’s energy performance and indoor comfort. Office spaces are conditioned a radiant heating and cooling ceiling system, while the remaining areas are tempered through thermally activated concrete slabs.
The entire roof area is covered with extensive green roofing, further enhancing the building’s environmental performance and sustainability credentials.
