The Hotel Drumlerhof has grown over the years in various stages of expansion. The colour redesign of the façades aims to visually unite the heterogeneous cubature without structural intervention and to represent it in the village as a hostel, as a historically anchored address. The colour scheme is derived from the main colours of the traditional buildings in Sand in Taufers. The municipality also has numerous houses with painted decorations and geometric ornamentation. The new pattern, which has been applied to the entire building like a dress, now references these existing features in their typical local form.
Extensions and porches are coloured green, the main façade is green and white – and the colour red is reserved for highlighting the entrance, doors, veranda and signage system. A small intervention with great memorability and recognition value.
