Accommodation of this project called for three components: A large family home; a consultation room and a home office. A central external staircase between the lower level garages provides access to the three components, which functions completely separately and privately. The steep stand with views to the east was leveled to have the pool, garden and ground floor living areas on one level. The first floor houses the private bedrooms. Title deed restrictions of the established Pretoria neighborhood calls for pitched, tiled roofs. This was approached by breaking the roofs into smaller sections, connected by flat concrete roofs, and concrete roof overhangs providing sufficient sun protection. While views to the east are utilized, the floor plan layout allows for sufficient northern light.
