This house located in the quiet suburb of Singapore.
Our aim of the design is to create a house in free and easy for the young family where children can run and play around inside and outside the house.
The house has no formal entrance door. One can enter the house freely from the sliding glass doors at the living and dining space. Once the sliding doors are open, the living and dining spaces continues to the outdoor patio space for the family to enjoy the cool air in the evening and morning or children to play outdoor under the shade.
The house is organized by the simple layout with the double volume space at the center with rooms and bridge-like open corridor surrounds it. The double volume living space connects multiple spaces horizontally and vertically to promote interaction among the family. The space together with the covered deck terrace on the second floor promotes to bring natural light and breeze into the house.
The house is designed to respond to the tropical climate in Singapore. The covered outdoor spaces such as patio and deck terrace enable the residents to enjoy the outdoor space by protecting form the strong sunlight or frequent shower.
The exterior design is characterized by the gently pitched tile roof and the timber cladded facade. The gentle pitch roof keeps the house low and creates sleek profile of the building. The timber cladding gives warm touch to the house.
