HOUSE B is located on a pitoresque plot at the outskirts of Warsaw in a place between residential area and forest. There are only a few semi-detached houses in the neighbourhood, and HOUSE B stands on the last plot near the boarder of forest with high pine and birch trees. The owners were looking more for an open site, but from the very first moment they saw this shaded nd moody place in the middle of forest they decided to live there. The final building location on the plot was determined by the layout of existing trees.
The realised building is a result of a long time working process and it was developed after testing of 4 different versions of project. Simple white form constitue a contrast to the natural environment. Elevation walls are bent to form balcony, bench and dog kennel connected with an interior. Kitchen with dining room and living room at the ground floor are extended with wooden floor terraces and equipped with benches. Large glazing, two floor high void in the central part of the house, skylights in the living room and one of the bathrooms, make the house more spacious and settle connection with surrounding forest which colours are changing with the seasons.
The house is designed for a family of two, with an option for living with grandmother in future. One of the most important aspects of the design is its connection with nature and opening the house to the garden and forest, taking into consideration also the needs of two dogs and three cats living in HOUSE B.
