"The request for concrete was a wish from the building owner." If a particular building material is preferred, we try to show it and bring out the specific character. The focus on the material accordingly characterizes the design. Furthermore there was also a desire for a sober interior design with simple surfaces. The house should live on calm and not be too structured or excited.
This can be seen, for example, in the clear division of the volume into three independent units. The doctor's practice and a guest room with bathroom are on the ground floor. The unit on the first floor is composed of the children's rooms with an upstream balcony, the living rooms and the sanitary area. At the very top is the bedroom with bathroom and gallery, which can also be used as a work space. A structure made of wooden slats as privacy and sun protection will offer an intimate outdoor area here in the future.
The gallery on the second floor and the living room on the first floor are connected by a two-story void – the library. A large window on the west side provides lighting until late in the evening. The floor plan of the house forms a kink, which follows the natural course of the slope, the owners had this idea, it was taken seriously as a guideline and used for the design of the planning program: A fair-faced concrete shell on the south side spans an intermediate space to create a “kink” Storage space, patios and balconies. The house impresses from the outside as well as from the inside with a clear, consistent architecture. The windows are positioned so that they do not allow a direct view and still bring in a lot of light.
